Come Celebrate Women’s Running/Title IX with Kathrine Switzer!
Hurry Make your plans now …. to celebrate your race weekend with the Baltimore Women's Classic.
We will be hosting two AWESOME race weekend events with our special guest, Kathrine Switzer - a national running treasure just returning from the Berlin Women’s Running festival and the NY Mini. While best known as the first woman to challenge the all male tradition and compete in the Boston Marathon, Kathrine has become a legend for championing the participation of women in sports and Title IX activities.
The BWC is honored to have Kathrine as our special guest for race weekend and THRILLED that we can offer you the chance to meet this remarkable woman while having a great time AND raising money to support gynecologic cancer patients and their families across the state of Maryland.
We know women excel at multitasking, but what a deal this is: 1.) meet a running legend 2.) have fun 3.) raise money for a great cause 4.) get pumped for race day!!
There will be TWO events on race weekend:
1. Friday, June 22nd - 5:30 pm -8:30 pm
A cocktail hour hosted by Charm City Run at their beautiful new McHenry Row location followed by a pasta dinner at the Greene Turtle. Meet Kathrine in an informal setting as she shares her experiences and insights with us during her presentation. Plus a few of Baltimore’s own women who helped promote Women’s running in Baltimore. Lastly, a few Raffles to win some exciting prizes.
2. Saturday, June 23rd - 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
An intimate (attendance is limited to 50) cocktail party with Kathrine at an exquisite penthouse at Silo Point Condominium. Sangria, beer and tapas, great views and the opportunity to meet Kathrine in a relaxed atmosphere as we prepare for the 37th running of the BWC!
Attendance for both events is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are $50.00 per person for each event and are available for purchase on line.
